Greenfingers

My bf and I finally found the time to make a trip to the plant nursery on Monday! Whoop!! I have been wanting to get myself a mint plant for the longest time and thru all that whining and pleading, I got it! Whoop x2!!!!

Anyhow, I ended up with not just 1 mint plant, I got myself 4 pots of plants – (From top left) stevia, indian borage, peppermint and mint! If I had stayed any longer, I would have bought up all the herb plants!

The next day, I got myself another RM5 white flower trough from Daiso and a RM3.90 watering can from Ikea! So excited about watching my plants grow big and propagate them some time soon!

A while back, I planted some pumpkin, 4-angled beans, coriander and ginger. I had 2 pumpkin shoots and 2 4-angled bean shoots in a single flower trough and they all looked like they were doing real good until some tiny brown insects started “sucking the life out of them”. It started from the pumpkin then spread quickly to the 4-angled bean. I was kinda sad as I watched their leaves turn a splotchy yellow.

With my new trough, I planted some new 4-angled bean seeds. Hope they will do really well this time.

My first try at planting coriander was not successful. It’s like the seeds just disappeared. I tried again in another pot and this time I have a couple of sprouts! For someone who never used to make an effort to grow any thing, I have been really hardworking with watering these babies of mine and I suppose watching them grow is like watching your kids grow. Really exciting to watch!

Here’s a picture of my coriander sprouts.

The ginger plant was a result of almost dead-dry ginger that I was too lazy to put back in the fridge after cooking. (yeah, tell me about it… I’m a weird kind of lazy…) And it’s doing really well now! Yay! I will probably need to move it to a bigger pot soon so I can harvest my own ginger for cooking!

Will be writing about how to grow these plants in greater detail soon!
