Eat Clean Week : Day 01

I recently visited an organic food store at Pasaraya Besar Central, Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur (which is about to close down for good on 31 August 2013) and laid my hands on some Psyllium Husks and Organic Quick Oats.

The Psyllium Husks even have instructions to tell you how to take it. I personally wash down 3-5 teaspoons of it in the mornings with a tablespoon or two of Bragg’s Organic Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 teaspoons of honey. It tastes more like some odd fibre than anything else.

I saw these same Organic Quick Oats going for RM6.90 at Aeon Supermarket just yesterday and was jumping with glee coz the auntie at the organic food store gave me a RM1 discount so I paid only RM5.90 for it! lol! Cheap thrill!

Anyways, today’s simple breakfast of organic oats, chia seeds & bananas soaked in soy milk. Here’s what I chucked into the bowl very quickly :

Preparation Time : Less than 5 minutes

1/3 cup of Organic Quick Oats
Approx. 1/2 cup of soy milk (I use the sweetened ones that we get off the shelves in the supermarket. I love it with my oats!)
1 teaspoon of Chia seeds
1 medium banana

It’s really simple and quick to put together! For those who do not have the privilege of working from home, you can prepare your oats the night before in a mason jar, just like the mason jar salads in my previous post! That way, your oats will be much softer and easier to eat. In fact, you can dump in any other type of fruits or more fruits! I’m actually looking forward to the next couple of days! Hope my kitchen creativity skills don’t up and die on me!
