Diet Day 8 : Post-Pig-Out-In-Singapore Diet Woes

I went back to Singapore for 2 days for my youngest sister’s 21st birthday. It was hardly 2 days considering I flew in and arrived only at about 11pm and got out at about 1.30pm today.

As you have probably heard, the haze in Singapore has reached Very Hazardous levels and I bear witness to that. The air was horrendous and it made me shiver at the thought that this was really something that we had no control over and we can’t really do much about it except pray very hard for rain and for the fires in neighbouring Sumatra to stop burning.

Well, the haze sure didn’t dampen my sister’s high spirits and we had a fulfilling dim sum lunch at Imperial Treasure Nan Bei Restaurant at Ngee Ann City Level 5. This past year, I would say it’s my go-to place for my dim sum craving. They do a good job with dim sum’s usual suspects – har gow, char siew pow, flour rolls etc. Love it! Unfortunately, I have yet to find a good dim sum restaurant in KL. Perhaps I haven’t been going to the right places. I hear from my malaysian friends that they too think Singapore has better dim sum. *shrugs* I reckon I need a good comparison.

As you can see, I didn’t take many food photos. I was being greedy and too busy eating!

Not much of a diet to talk to about, especially after dinner!

Dinner was at my all-time favorite Chinese restaurant, Min Jiang, at Goodwood Park Hotel. I absolutely love the food there and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Not only is the food awesome, the price is not sky-rocket expensive. I also love the ambience of the place – it isn’t a big restaurant but it has nice lighting and a great view of the hotel pool, especially at dusk.

Once again, I didn’t take any pictures of the food … argh! Need to focus on the photo-taking instead of the food!

Here are a couple of pics I have found on google and rest assure, the place looks just like that!
