10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

Thank you for the wonderful weekend. Friday was my hubby’s birthday and because we had to work, he was quite tired. But thanks to our wonderful Activebugs team, he had a major surprise when we arrived in Melaka. He was pranked majorly. lol

I’m thankful for the wonderful family we have in Activebugs. They are truly a dream team and I truly believe being family has made us the dream team we are. Nothing less. I’m also thankful for yet another successful teambuilding completed for one of our favorite clients.

I’m thankful for beautiful people we have in our little family and for all the beautiful people we meet in the course of our programs. It is truly a joy to know that your hard work is appreciated.

I’m thankful for having earned an elder brother and sister who love me for who I am. I’m thankful for a loving family that I’ve found in marrying my hubby and thankful for the peace we keep in the family and that we all get along well together.

I’m blessed.

Day 3 of 10 of my #ThankYouNotes Challenge

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

I’m thankful for a good night’s sleep. Dreamless solid sleep. I’m thankful for a fantastic yoga class yesterday evening. Thankful for funny classmates who never fail to make me laugh at myself. Thankful for the great workout, for I haven’t felt this good after a workout in a while now. I have been feeling rather lethargic of late. Perhaps I skipped too many lessons I a row, thanks to my Hongkong trip and stuff. Now that I’ve regained my strength, I hope I don’t lose momentum again.

That said, I really love my yoga classes. It’s something I call my own in this foreign land. Something I do for myself only and completely independent of my hubs. Yoga has given me a sense of belonging in this country I now call home. It’s taken me almost 6 years to get to this. It’s been a long tough and bumpy road.

I’m thankful for good business for my husband’s company. That way I can continue my work without having to worry about making ends meet. Haha! I sound like a spoilt brat who’s been pampered by her husband.

I’m also thankful for our Activebugs family. Family takes time and effort, to stay close, to stay united. Our little family has come very far and my little chicks have begun to fly the coop. I hope we continue to grow this family.

Day 2 of 10 of My #ThankYouNotes Challenge

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

I’m thankful for a wonderful evening yesterday spent with my hubs. Although it was just dinner and looking for a table cloth for this week’s teambuilding, it was time well spent. Perhaps we will do very well together if we took part in Amazing Race. *chuckle*

I’m thankful for the laughs I had this morning, as soon as I got out of bed, just watching our lil one sliding around the floor. The floor has gotten slippery after I mopped it with Licin-Licin (I swear by this floor detergent but it’s not meant for you if you have elderly in your house) so she’s been doing a 4-legged kind of dance, trying to keep all fours rooted to the ground.

I’m thankful for a brand new day, a beautiful morning, void of negative vibes and people. I’m thankful for my yoga instructor, for her starting yoga classes in our condo compound. Thanks to her, I have been attending yoga classes religiously since the beginning of the year (2nd Jan was my 1st class.) I attend a minimum of 8 classes a month and I have seen great improvement in my poses, my posture, health and weight. I’m thankful I’m not too concerned with the digits on the weighing scale. I can’t remember the last time I weighed myself. But I’m thankful I can still wear most of my ‘slim’ clothes. In fact, my sizes have been going down.

I’m thankful for the hubs. He’s been trying very hard for almost a year now. I’m thankful he’s doing his best to be a great husband. He’s not perfect but he’s perfect enough for me and I’m thankful for that.

I’m thankful that I can work from home in the comforts of my PJs and of course, my own home.

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

I’m thankful for the rain today, even though it’s stopped now. I’m thankful that it will probably help with the reservoirs/water catchment areas and we won’t have to have water rationing! I’m thankful for my hubby who lets me turn on the aircon at home all day in this melting heat. The electricity bill is gonna skyrocket, that’s what I tell him. And his reply is always,”I want the 2 women I love to be comfortable at home.” The other woman is our dog, Sylvester. lol. I’m thankful for him being so loving and supportive of my work-at-home job even though it doesn’t pay much. And I’m so thankful he continues to work hard for his business and is doing well.

I’m thankful for clicking on Emily Gould’s videos and Skillshare class, for otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing here. And at this very moment, I’m thankful for still continuing to write. I’m thankful for our furkid, Sylvester, for being so loving and protective of me. I’m thankful for her being such an obedient puppy (mind you, she’s always 12 years old but always a puppy in our hearts).

I’m thankful I am now closer to God than I have ever been in my life. I’m thankful for my community of faith, people who always touch me with their good hearts, commitment, kindness and warmth. I wish more people around the world would be like that.

I’m thankful that I woke up to a brand new day today, feeling motivated to clean the house so that my hubby can come home to a clean and neat house too. I’m thankful for all the blessings in my life.

Touched by an Angel & 10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer’s Block

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer's Block

I’ve been having this writer’s block for almost a week now. I have no motivation to write, and when I do force myself to sit at my desk to start writing something, I start to feel sleepy and tired. My brain feels like mush.

God sent me an angel in my email. I swear.

He sent me an angel in the form of this free Skillshare course, Creative Writing For All : 10 Days to a Daily Habit by Emily Gould, the author. And by some miracle of sorts after moping around the house for most of the afternoon, I decided to click on the Intro video and have listen. I was touched by Emily’s sincerity and her honest thoughts. So much so that I wish I could be like her in front of the video camera. So click on the link if you are curious to know what I saw and heard!

10-Day #ThankYouNotes Challenge to Kill Writer’s Block

I’m gonna do a slight tweak to the 10-day challenge, in fact, copy Justin Wolfe’s idea right off – Thank You Notes .
So I’m gonna use this hashtag – #thankyounotes , especially if you’re following me on Dayre or instagram.

Why Thank You Notes?
Because I realised how my ramblings always had negative thoughts in them. I ramble alot of the time because I have something to complain about or because I have nothing to write about, I start to emo about having nothing to write. haha, it’s a vicious cycle. Hence, thank you notes.

How my #ThankYouNotes challenge works?
For 10 days, I will write for 10 minutes, beginning with “I’m thankful for…”

Join me if you wish and use the #thankyounotes hashtag or drop me an email!
